Birdwatching Tour Los Quetzales & Cartago Church

$145.00 $130 P/P

In San Gerardo de Dota there is the observation of the Quetzal because they prefer the very humid montane forests loaded with epiphytes, and they feed on lauráceas like the Aguacatillo that abound in our woods.

In San Gerardo de Dota there is a 90% chance that you will effectively observe a Quetzal at any time of the year. The tour can be done in any season; we have expert guides to help you identify not only the Quetzal but all the variety of animals and plants you observe.

The best time to see these birds, from January to April, is when you harvest the aguacatillo, one of the favorite fruits; however, in the community, we have a campaign to implant species of trees that harvested at different times of the year so that the Tourist can see it at any time.

The male Quetzal including the tail measures 64 cm is one of the most beautiful birds in Costa Rica, the female
Quetzal and juveniles have no ridge but have collected distinctive barred tail and gray chest.

We will visit the Cathedral of Cartago, where we will visit the patron of Costa Rica.
