For years the owners and operators of Hacienda NOSAVAR, the Vargas family have been lovers of horses and active participants of mounts throughout the country. Carara National Park is a National Park in the Central Pacific Conservation Area located near the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, between the Turrubares and Garabito cantons.

In Carara, we can distinguish three zones of life: the humid tropical forest transition to perhúmedo, the tropical forest very humid transition to humid and the very humid forest premontane with its basal transition by per humid.

Today, Carara is considered as a biological island because of the intense agricultural use that goes back to pre-Columbian times.

This condition makes Carara the last remnant of the transitional forest in the country since it is between the dry forest of the Mesoamerican region and the humid tropical forest characteristic of the South Pacific.

This protected wilderness area is considered a living laboratory where one can study the structure and functioning of tropical ecosystems and their relationships.
