Almost 20 years ago, Henk Morelisse walked his property in Costa Rica when he encountered several huge ceibas trees, almonds Besides and guácimos. He saw a giant ceiba tree that is about 500 years old, which means that roots arose about the same moment in which Christopher Columbus anchored his ship on the Costa Rican coast.
That ceiba and four others as it was Morelisse, an ecologist describes himself, the idea to plant of more than 700,000. Yes, nearly one million trees on its 1,100-hectare property later partnered with the Costa Rican Ministry of Environment to obtain the status of private reserve of the National Conservation Area System.
Dare to travel our 1.2-kilometer long hiking trails through a wonderful rainforest located in the northern part of our country.
